Restoring America's Ability to Build
America's ability to build is fundamental to national security.
Modern conflict has shown that nations cannot surge industrial capability after a crisis begins. The manufacturing capacity, critical technologies, and resilient supply chains required to deliver mission-capable systems must exist long before they are needed.
The Department of War's Office of Strategic Capital has announced a strategic financial commitment to Performance Drone Works to help strengthen America's ability to build the critical technologies and components behind the next generation of drones, robotics, and autonomous systems.
Together, that investment will help expand domestic manufacturing, strengthen resilient supply chains, and support the industrial capability required to protect national security and strengthen industrial competitiveness.
Building Critical Technologies at Home
Manufacturing Critical Components
Expand domestic production of mission-critical drone and robotics components currently dependent on foreign-controlled supply chains, including propulsion, power and control, vision systems and other enabling technologies.

Expanding Manufacturing Capacity
Increase U.S. manufacturing capacity for the next generation of drones, robotics, and autonomous systems.

Strengthening the Drone Industrial Ecosystem
Supply trusted American-made components for PDW-produced systems as well as to qualified U.S. and allied manufacturers beyond PDW, strengthening resilient domestic supply chains.

Building Beyond Defense
Support urgent defense requirements today while establishing manufacturing capability for future public safety, industrial, and commercial applications.

Built Before It's Needed
Manufacturing capability cannot be created overnight.
Over the past decade, PDW has built one of America's largest, most integrated manufacturing operations for unmanned systems. By bringing engineering, flight test, systems integration, production, and fulfillment together at Drone Factory 01, PDW can rapidly develop, manufacture, test, and deliver mission-capable systems.
The Office of Strategic Capital's investment builds on that foundation, expanding the capacity to manufacture critical technologies and components while strengthening America's domestic industrial base.
