PDW Releases CORE 1.4

The Software Foundation Powering Multi-Mission Payloads and Next-Gen C100 Operations

March 2, 2026 – PDW CORE 1.4, the latest evolution of the software architecture powering the C100 platform, is now live. The 1.4 software unlocks enhanced multi-mission capability on the C100 and delivers significant enhancements across flight control, communications resiliency, simulation, and operator workflows.

For Multi-Mission Payload (MMP) customers, this release enables the full operational capability of the payload suite, expanding reach in contested environments while strengthening precision, continuity, and situational awareness across the platform. For existing C100 operators, CORE 1.4 means smoother, more precise flight performance and increased system resiliency in contested and degraded environments.

“CORE 1.4 represents a significant step forward in expanding what’s possible on the C100 platform,” said PDW CTO Dylan Hamm. “The MMP capability combined with strengthened communications and flight control enables greater operational reach and enhanced situational awareness to forward-deployed teams when they need it the most.”

Key CORE 1.4 update benefits include:

MMP Payload Enablement: CORE 1.4 enables full MMP capabilities including the ability to deploy in GPS contested environments. A new Vision-Based Navigation (VBN) Mission Mode, or “Cold Start,” removes the requirement for GPS at mission start, supporting higher mission accuracy and continued operations in GPS-denied environments.  New built-in maps further expand mission planning flexibility by enabling Leidos map downloads on the PDW Vision Payload (PVP).

Strengthened SROC Functionality and Resiliency: CORE 1.4 includes access to Doodle Labs Sense, enabling more reliable, frequency-agile communications, frequency hopping in contested environments, and compatibility with Doodle wearables. Swappable Battery Modules on SROC allow hot battery swaps without interrupting command and control, maintaining operations throughout a C100 flight and extending overall mission endurance.

Advanced Flight Control: The new C100 Precision Control Mode allows fine, deliberate joystick inputs for accurate positioning over objects of interest or in situations requiring exact maneuvering. Advanced Mission Orbit at Waypoint automates controlled orbits for extended observation or loitering, reducing operator cognitive load and automating tasks that previously required manual flight control.

Enhanced Simulation Environment: CORE 1.4 features additional training maps, including Taiwan, Ukraine, and Guardian Center, alongside expanded ground assets such as tanks, boats, SUVs, and radar systems.

SROC and QGC Improvements: Streamlined UX/UI improvements across SROC and QGC including updated visual design, consolidated menu options and improved operator messaging, further improving operator workflows and overall platform reliability.
